A New Project
In honor of SOLI Chamber Ensemble’s 30th anniversary, a national call was made for recently-composed scores created by early-career composers. The Project Team then selected 30 works from the nearly 300 submissions to be performed across the country during the 2024-2025 season. Performance locations will be selected to enrich patrons’ experiences with a plurality of creative voices.
Potential partners can host residencies of the composers and performers in order to promote the continued relevance of the arts in their communities. Recordings from each performance will then be collected and released in a compilation album to increase the visibility of and promote opportunity for these phenomenal composers.
The ultimate goal of the 30x30x30 Project is to give voice to different cultures, heritages, and affinities. Increasing knowledge and understanding of contemporary classical music dissolves barriers, invites connection, and strengthens cultural sensitivity and community across demographics.
The Project Team
The Project Team was assembled to represent a plurality of diverse perspectives throughout the process of gathering and selecting score submissions. Their work was done with the goal of ensuring objective and equitable decision-making in the cultivation of a healthy pool of qualified compositions, the ultimate aim to feature early-career composers from underrepresented communities.
